Hello all. Right as the title says. I'm going to Coed-y-brenin on the Sat 22nd Aug and was wondering whether anyone fancied it? Everybody this end has dropped out and by hook or by crook I'm fleckin going. So if anyone or everyone fancies a blast let me know. Never done it before. really looking forward to it.

Where are you staying, I was contemplating camping for the weekend but not sure if the campsite is still there, on the A496 just past Bontddu?

I am planning on staying at vanner campsite, its about 3 miles from the visitors centre. Thought I would go that weekend and avoid the BH chaos.

The family and that are staying down at Llanbedr. About 20 miles away near Harlech? I'm down all weekend camping. I'm definately going as it's not often I get down that way.

Do you have a grid ref or directions to that, sounds nearer than the one I know about. Is it any good?

I was there a couple of weeks ago with my brother... and loved the trails (though not sure about the big set of forks you ride through at the start!).

We did the MBR and Dragons Back, didnt have time for any others.  Loved them though.  The guys in Beics Brenin were also really helpful...had a quick look at my wobbly hub on the hardtail which was really useful (and I did end up buying a Hope Hoop from them so their flexibility paid off!).

We stayed at a campsite thats half an hour or so away but which is lovely - is at the Cae Du Farm at Rhosllefain near Twywn (not the campsite of the same name near Bedgellert) and basically consists of two long fields on small cliffs overlooking the sea.  Beautiful views and relatively quiet site.  They allow campfires on stone hearths and the washrooms etc are cool.  Be aware that the driveway is down to the farm and then campsite starts on a tight corner and is narrow and windy so not best for caravns etc... great for tents and campervans though.

The family are also really helpful and even organised a lift back from Cambridge with their son so I could pick up my brothers car that we had to abandon after he took a spill and broke his arm :-(.

Some reviews of the site here: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=4875
