  Embarrassed

Oh dear ! DH has announced that he wants to bring his old Halfords scrubber on holiday with us ... On the crappy Halfords bike rack we own!  Son also bringing his bike ... So my beloved Commie us going to be sandwiched between these bikes.  DH is not going to buy a better bike rack ... I am worried my bike is going to get damaged/fall off.

What can I do?  I'm so concerned - he just doesn't understand how I feel!

Make sure your bike is on one of the ends so there's only one bike against it and wrap that side in pipe lagging, dirt cheap from DIY shop Wink  Tape it around the tubes to hold in position.

Remove pedals too, as they are the worse things for rubbing whilst in transit.

Make DH & son hire a car to themselves!!

Already taking two cars.  Mines a Smart car and the bike rack that fits it costs about three hundred smackers!   Undecided

I will when I get there without my wee bike falling off the cycle rack on the motorway and being run over by a ten ton truck!  Grin

I'll second Doms call about pipe lagging. Uber cheap from hardware shops and does a brilliant job of stopping scratching.

Do what I did, put Barry as it is affectionally know in the boot and put everything else in the trailer. Even our suitcases. Job sorted. In your case wrap your bike in your clothes and put it in the boot.

Lol, when i got the bike last year we went to newquay on a holiday. i took him, cough cough, IT with us. Obviously it cost me a bloody fortune. So the bike went in the boot with the coats and stuff and all our suitcases went in the trailer. when we got there, (static caravan park) I put my bike in the caravan and locked all the kids bikes up outside. The bike when not used stayed indoors with the rest of the family. The wife said, "What the f**k is Barry the f***ing bike doing in here?" since then it has been known as Barry the bike
