Yo join me in making the 14th of August a national love-yer-bike day.
Nothing kinky, I just think it would be cool to have a set day in the year that one appreciates one's bike, maybe does a little gesture of thanks for what it has to put up with the rest of the year.

I'll be washing and polishing my trailbike that day, giving it a set of new grips, and, shh don't tell it, whisking away for a dirty weekend!

The 14th og August is obviously 6 months after the wife's Valentine's day, and has good possibilities of being a 'leave me alone with my bike' day. The rest of the year you ride when you can, but it'd be cool to have a day that you know you can ride, and you know others will also be riding.

What do you guys think?

I've started a group on facebooook, please join. (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=103547348565)

I'm kinda hoping the industry gets hold of this too, maybe we'll see good offers on Bike Valentine's and I'll even chuckle if I see cards and special bike chocolates.

Rufus, I hope you're not thinking about taking this too seriously, I wouldn't want to see you end up like this guy - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/7095134.stm

Sh1t! That is taking a bit far!
I had bikes in the bedroom before I got married, but strictly for decoration.

I've mailed Dirt, gonna get on to the other mags/medias.

Billy at Dirt said I was mad, but he probably says that to all the guys. Smiley

Isn't the 8th of May woman's day?
Or is that march?
They celebrate it over here, obviously the other 364 are for men.

I'm sticking with Bike Valentine's though, it just sounds funnier, and so many bikers joke about being married to their bikes.

Whatdya think Steve?

I'm starting small, I'm gonna do a deal on the 14th in my shop, and on the net (also Facebook) and push for it over here in Norway.

I was at the Specialized 2010 launch these past few days, they really liked the idea, haha it's just for laughs though.

E-Girl drop the flowers, just remember to take your bike where there are wild flowers growing, and get energy chocolate for the ride back. Smiley

Get out of here, quick, go, get out & never come back you might be infected. We don't watch to catch anything from you so it's probably best if you just melt away now into the obscurity of the Specialised bike riding fraternity where nobody knows your name and everybody you meet has the same bike

(Dom will be along in a minute to say the new 2010 Specialised range is the best ever Wink )
