Unconfirmed, but I think Remy Absalon got the main win at the Mega-avalanche.

I'm guessing he was on a Meta 6.

Can anyone confirm?

Just returned from the Mega yesterday and spent a good few minutes next to Remy Absalon queing for the lifts for qualifying on Friday as he was in my group (I'd like to be able to say I whipped his butt, but alas he scarpered off into the distance whilst I was left hanging on for dear life!)

He was indeed on a carbon Meta 5.5 running really light gear, Mavic SLR's, Fox Float 32's and amazingly tubeless Larsen TT tyres! Just goes to show that when you ride at his speed you probably don't actually touch the ground that much!

Great Victory for Remy ABSALON at the Alpe d’Huez Mega!

During qualification on Friday, Remy Absalon and Nicolas Vouilloz fought it out for the top spot, with Remy ending up fastest man down, despite a bit of an excursion off piste.
Saturday was a rest day, with Sunday being race day. Despite a bad start, Remy was able to reel in rider after rider, eventually winning the Alpe d’Huez Megavalache!!

Some of the best riders of the world where there with René WILDABER taking 2nd, Nico VOUILLOZ in 3rd and Fabien BAREL finishing 4th.

Eagle-eyed spectators will have noticed that Remy was competing for the first time with his META 5 Carbon! First race, first victory!

A big congratulations then to Remy and Jean-Yves, his mecanic!
