I have a meta 553 2008 with the std marzzochi boxer xc600 tst2 forks. it seems mine have developed the tst problem so im now looking to change and upgrade so i was wondering what you all felt about changing to rockshox pikes. All comments welcome as i am still new to mtbing.

pikes are great but revelations o the job just as good if not better (if you get the 09 or '10 ones) and are lighter just as long as your not a hardcore guy who goes down DH tracks all the time...............also look at fox's floats/vanillas/talas forks 32 series  Wink

I had Air Pikes on my 5.5. Great fork. About a pound heavier than the equivalent Fox or Revelation fork though.  Coil version slightly heavier again.  Don't think they make the Air Pikes anymore but they do come up on eBay from time to time.  If it's not obvious what version is listed, Coil vers. travel is 95-140mm, Air version travel is 110-140mm.

i've just ordered some '09 Revelations dual air jobbies. Can't wait. Running '07 coil revs at the mo and they are really plush but only 130mm. The new forks are maxle also.

I run F120 RLC's on my trial bike, great fork tad expensive but very light. The new ones are bolt thru so are stiffer than the QR'a I run.
