Hi Ally. are you SURE you're after a supreme DH? You won't be able to pedal up anything with that so unless you're going to use the uplifts at Ae and the gondola at fort William it will be a bit restrictive!

I'd go for a Meta 5 or 6 or a Supreme (the new mini-DH) if I were you. As for hire around Edinburgh I'm not sure but I'm sure someone on here will be able to help!

yeah i'm very sure thats what i'm looking for!  i've got a deposit on the supreme (blue one) , but wont be getting that for a couple of months yet!

i'm not too bothered about the pushing, will probably just spend the holiday at fort bill anyway!!

Haha just wanted to check... in that case you have DEFINITELY gone for the right bike!

As for hire places I'm not too sure to be honest... might be worth a call to Nevis cycles and Off Beat Bikes to see what they have in stock!

If u can deal with using a supreme instead of the supreme dh then edinburgh bikes do demos of thier fleet,so maybe they have one in u can take for a bit?

£1000?!?!?! WTF!? That's insane. I know that hiring the bikes poses some risk to the shop but how much damage do they think you'll do!?

surely its a credit card swipe? not actually leaving £1k with them
How much damage do they think you will do - ehm if your not honest you could never return it?!?!
I'd guess thats worth £1k?
I rented a bike in San Fran about 12 years ago and had to leave a credit card swipe for $500 - and that was 12 years ago!!

what happens if you dont have a credit card? or a spare G in the bank???

"Conditions in brief
We will charge you £50 for your 2 day hire. This will be refundable in full if you order a bike within 3 months of your 2-day hire. We also require a £1,000 security deposit - again refundable when the bike is returned to us in good nick."
