Hi,

My bike has been stolen from my workplace in Wigan. It was stored in a secure cycle cage and was locked up to the bars in there with two locks, but when I went back outside to leave at approx 6:30pm it had gone, with the bike cage locked and one lock left on the floor and had been cut.

Bike Info:
Commencal VIP Flame in 2008 Superteam colours

Frame number under bottom bracket
D78K-10469
HA9001-7

Components:

Fox F100 RLC Forks (with blue zip tie)
Hope Tech X2 Brakes with Gold floating rotors and Braided hoses
Truvativ Firex Crankset
Thompson Elite Seat Post
Thompson Elite Stem
SDG Bel Air Ti Cow hide design saddle
Sigma BC1106L Wireless Computer
Mavic Crossland Front and Rear Wheels
BBB Freeride Pedals
SRAM X9 Shifters
Specialized Tyres
Specialized bar ends
White Sunline Lock on Grips
DTSwiss RWS Skewers

I would be extremely grateful for any help finding my bike

REWARD FOR ANY INFORMATION THAT LEADS TO RECOVERY OR PROSECUTION

Having had my bikes nicked last week I've been watching the forums much more recently and I'm surprised how much of this is going on.  There seems to be a lot of targeted bike theft happening at the moment so note to everybody - make sure your stuff is locked up / alarmed.  Don't make it easy for them.  Check & make sure you got have recent pics, recepits, frame numbers etc.

It's tough when someone walks off with something you've put your heart into.  Not to mention hours of work and your hard earned £££.

Should be easy to spot at least.
There won't be many Flame's with that cow hide saddle & silver post.

CCTV at work?
Insured?

Get it on the Bikeradar and Singletrack forums, maybe Pinkbike.
Keep an eye on ebay, gumtree, vivastreet.
Post pics in the local shops, let the neighbours know.  You never know.

Good luck mate.

I've been checking everything out at work and seen the CCTV footage. Can see they came down and checked it out and then came back. They bent the side of the cage around the mortise so that they could get the door open and cut through my locks. I've also got a witness that saw them leaving but he didn't see the breaking in and their lack of urgency didn't alert him to anything being wrong.

It is insured and with the CCTV and everything I'm covered for the bike. Still gutted as I'll have the hassle of getting a new bike or replacement parts, depending on what the insurance decide to do. Plus I have the excess to pay! I'm looking at seeing if I can get something off work to pay it save me the excess but don't know where I stand with that. Just checked insurance £150 excess. Luckily I have a valuation of my bike from my LBS which predates the claim!

I've been round a few local bike shops and give them some posters to put up and going to be checking eBay etc regularly as well as the local newspapers and places like cash converters etc. see if I can find it.

I'm also going to post this on the other forums you suggested, see if anything comes up.

Cheers and good luck with yours.

I'm not far from you mate, I'll keep an eye out.

Take some mates and have a cruise round Plat Waz, Norley Hall and all the usual spots, I know people who've found their bikes that way.
