Right so tell me whats the benfit all of u are finding from putting lower rise bars on your bikes? it seems to be a big trend just now and im looking to buy new bars soon,so wanna get all your views b4 i do. Also im going to be fitting a 0deg rise stem too(although the standard 5deg rise on the 50mm stem aint exactly much),so not sure if by changing that and the bars may be too much of a drop in the cockpit???

You will be surprised how much better the handling is, believe me. For DH you have your weight on the front a lot and its easier with a low cockpit, and for better stability, they are easier to go up hill, its like a long stem will pull the front wheel up but a short wont. Same kinda idea in bars lower rise the less front wheel come up. So lower (bars) and shorter (stem) will mean better control, stability, easier to go uphill and easier to put weight on for DH, think there is more but i cant think atm

Hey bong,
As you know I've got pretty much the same rig, I'm using no stem stacker's, 20mm rise 760mm wide bars and a Thomson x4 50mm 0 rise stem.
I totally concur with what Dom just said, i was sceptical at first but it feels much better when in the attack position.

I moved from a nasty EA50 and Diabolus stem combo to a Reverse FLi XXL 760mm 20mm rise and Straitline 50mm SS 0deg stem and difference is huge, both with width and height, and feels so much improved. I've got an '05 66VF on the Supreme which has a massive a2c height so wanted to lower it as much as possible without going flat-bar.
