Finally got out on my new Meta 55 UK yesterday and as these are my initial thoughts…(aside from awesome bike!!!!)

- Great on the downs, found a flowing down hill section with jump, drops and berms and nailed em all. Bike even saved me when I landed one a bit front heavy.
- Excellent at climbing, seated or standing and excellent traction.
- Propedal switched on 80% of the time as this was a xc route.
- Looking forward to taking it on more agro trails and getting the shock fully open more of the time….

Although I get accustomed to it I did think it was a touch heavy. Whilst I am no way hung up on the weight…what are the obvious things to do - new rims ? tubeless, carbon seatpost ?   Want to get a long term view of what to replace over time as I'm not intending on going out and buying a load of new kit for it tomorrow ?

Also, interms of running the shock presure…..if I put more air in will this stiffen the back up and make it less soft ? I would like to run the shock full open with the propedal off more of the time…..this is my first full suss so im in new territory with what to tweak…..im 10stone 4lbs if that helps

Virtually the same weight as me,as for my pro pedal I have it set so the rubber indicator ring only moves around 12mm off the shock when I sit on it,That's when I am xc riding, I find that set like that there is no pedal bob at all but you still soak up the small bumps etc etc .When I do trail riding I set it to around 20/25 mm just because there is a lot more technical stuff IE small jumps roots etc etc .

ok sounds like I need to whack some more air in as I think its on 20mm at the moment...

Also - did you find your seat difficult to adjust, I undid the allen bolt but it is rock solid and wont move at all!

My seat was fine, but saying that It did explode with a very loud crack when I was out riding I sh*t myself. The reason being was that the seat tube diameter was too small for the seat to fit in and it had been pressed in thus causing a weakness,I got a new seat under warranty no probs at all.

I regularly adjust the air in my shock depending were i am going.I am off to Hayfield soon and will pump a lot more in as that is all XC work. Also playing with the rebound really gives you a diffrent feel again its like a mad science.
