Fork dilemma - Meta 5

Did a custom build 5 VIP back end of last year (see link below) & fitted a pair of '08 Fox Float RLC's & although I'm pleased with the ride I seem to get some fore aft judder at times under braking. All's well with the headset, brakes & there's no play in the fork bushes so the question is would it be worth the upgrade to 15QR lowers when they are due for a service (£150 I recall + service + p&p) or sell em on & invest in something - else I'm thinking Pike 454 which would also need a new IS brake caliper. Usual stomping grounds are the peaks and trail centers, I weigh in around 70Kg & I'd like to think I'm a smooth rider.

Yep, all done up tight. Problem is only apparent when braking lightly & looking down the lower legs I can see the judder, not a lot but now I know it's there it's bugging me.

Have you checked the brake pads, uneven wear can cause this.

Looking down the leg of the fork and braking I notice judder. I've noticed this on pretty much every fork I've seen in varying amounts, Rebas, Revelations (2009, with maxle), Pikes, Fox Floats, Fox Talas (with QR15), regardless of axle they have. You notice more with the lighter XC forks admittedly, I doubt you're going to completely eliminate it though. It doesn't affect riding drastically and I'm yet to have anything completely give underneath me.
I'm about 15 stone and 6'6".

Pads look to be wearing evenly although looking at the disc there is a slightly dull band around around the center section coinciding with the holes (brakes are K24's, pads Goodridge sintered), I'm thinking this is an effect of the pattern as I cant imagine the braking surface to be ) shaped. I never had this with Hopes in the past tho although rotors were non wavy.
A clean up & new pads is on the cards but if I can't get rid of it & new forks it be then I may take you up on your offer sometime Steve.
Thanks.
