I'm coming to England next week, and wondering about bring a bike.

Y'see my father in law has turned 60 and the males in the family are going to see a Tottenham Hotspurs game, the ladies are going shopping... me being non-football-interested, and broke beyond belief thought that I could maybe ride.

I don't know the area though, any ideas?

Don't worry going to see Tottenham will be fine if your not into football - they don't play much there anyway Grin ;)lol

think I would rather go shopping than watch Spurs!!
Liverpool for me!

Biking you would need transport from London but definately plenty within an hour or so - North/South Downs (probably also reachable by train), several smaller bike parks etc
You could even just explore Londons parks by bike if you wanted sightseeing

Depends where in London you will be staying but if you are anywhere near Chingford which is not that far from Tottenham, there is Epping Forest.  There is some great riding there including a bike park I believe (although I have never used it) but bring a GPS as it easy to get lost.  There are lots of car parks around the forest but you could spend days finding your way back to your car.

Ok ta for the help, on retrospect there probably won't be time for riding anyway, and I have to get in a year's supply of sausage-rolls, jam-tarts, cornish pasteys, pork-pies, Marmite and crisps, so I will be bringing my bike bag, just not my bike!!

(I cannot get these things here in Norway, bring back the Empire, I say!)
