High Roller Up front and Larsen TT out back...the perfect combo for almost all year round :-) ( High Roller out back when it gets muddy )

Just my view though

My bike came with a Larson Tu on the back but I asked the shop to change it and i will pay for a new one ,Then I asked for the tt back but they said it was part of the deal ha ha so got stung a bit there ,it just proves that you should get it all down on paper first.

is this the right speck  is folding ok

maxxis larsen tt - folding

The TT works on a vast number of terrains and conditions, which is why it’s the favored tread of many of our pro dual riders. The TT hooks up well because each small, square lug in the tread pattern is ramped to roll easily, yet tightly spaced so more knobs are making contact with the ground. Thus, the contact patch is effective on a wide variety of surfaces.

Ramped knob technology on the leading edge, coupled with close spacing, permits the small square knobs to roll fast
Trailing edges allow climbing and braking power on hard to medium terrain
Low rolling resistance

I use High Roller up front and an Ardent on the rear. Good combo.

Depends on what you ride.
I run a 2.5 Dual Ply on my hardtail for improved puncture protection, and ride pretty much everything on it, which includes most stuff that can cause pinchflats (roots, rocks, steps...etc).
If you ride smoother stuff and don't really get bothered by pinchflats, then you'll get away with one of the narrower/singleply versions.
