Hi,

Need some gloves and was wondering what are people using in the coldest conditions (-10°c). Looking for something that would be near waterproof and warm but not too warm so you could use them in the autumn time as well and then stick a liner in between for the winter. Also prefer a cuff with a fastener to put over the jacket sleeve.

My worry is that a highly isulated glove (like Sealskinz) would make your hands sweat and turn your ride uncomfortable and in the worst case make your hands freeze in the end.

I've got Sealskins and find them very good. Haven't used them in -10 but certainly OK at -2-3. Never had any problems with being overwarm and sweaty if you are using them in the condition that they are designed for. I always keep a pair of 661 gloves in the Camelback if the weather is getting a little milder. You wouldn't need a liner for the Winter as they are warm enough.

Plenty enough feel to not interfere with the ride.

I hate riding in thick gloves, so if it gets really cold I opt for thin silk liners under my normal year round riding gloves.

But saying that even in -5 or so the only extra bit of clothing I wear is a thin fleece under my riding top.

Not sure but they are a year old and have waterproof porelle DXT written on them. Not sure what the current equivalent is I'm afraid but they look much like these;

Endura Strikes here, take a while to warm up, i.e. fingers are cold for about the first 10 mins of any ride, after that toasty and warm
