hi ive been offered this bike but cant test ride, i currently have a 24 pound 3 inch travel anthem and want some more bounce . this is hardly used by all accounts and looks good spec, wheels will be orig commy hubs/mavic 823 rims tho not ones in pic

so what are they like, im after something that will be more comfy  than my anthem for rough stuff but still be able to ride it on all day epics as a cross country machine the owner says he rides his cross country . also what would this model weigh as is ? he says about 30 pounds but that seems way too low for the bike

That bike will weigh about 35lbs if he's running very lightweight tyres, to say it weights 30lbs is utter bollox.

The frame on that bike is great, same as the old shape MiniDH which I run as a heavy duty all rounder. Some of the bits on it are very good, some not so. Like the forks, they're pants. The 05 Supreme 6 range was a very confused ranged, it really didn't know what it wanted to be so the bikes mixed lightweight and heavy duty parts on a heavy frame: The Supreme 6, or Mini DH as it later became known, weights about 10lbs.

They can however be ridden all day, I regularly ride mine on 5 hour day rides that have 5000ft of climbing, but you need big legs and pretty good stamina to do it. And unless your pushing the bike on the downhill bits, it's a pointless lugging such a heavy bike up the hills in the first place.

If however your looking a bike that can cope with full on DH runs yet still be ridden to the top, it's one of the best out there. Just change those forks. They are are pants. And swop out the front wheel for a bolt thru jobbie too. And change the stem to something a lot shorter. And dump the big ring and fit a bashguard. And beef up the brakes with bigger rotors. And fit an adjustable seatpost.

How much is the seller looking by the way?

By "pushing the bike on the downhill runs" I mean pushing the bike to it's limits, ie, riding hard, not literally pushing the bike downhill. That would be daft!

If it's totally mint then it's not a bad price, but it's not a bargain. It's the guts of 4 years old, the forks are most likely in need of a service, as are the brakes and most likely the rear shock too.

If your into big hit riding then go for it, if your an XCer looking some more "all mountain" then forget it, look for a cheap Meta 5. Or, call me and let me do you a deal on one ;-)
