Greetings,

I just ordered a new meta 5.5 frame and am awaiting delivery.    It will be my first Commencal, as they are very scarce here in the U.S.  I'm sure I will have some questions while I build it up.  Currently riding a Yeti Kokopelli and need something a little more stout.  I am looking forward to being part of the CoC.

Welcome to the club. I have a '09 Meta 5 VIP frame on the way too! I've been on a Meta 6 for the past year and absolutely love it but I wanted to go with a little less travel and weight for next year. I'm in the US too and Commencal's are still pretty scarce, but anyone who has ridden mine has been impressed. I think this will be a good year for Commencal in the US.

Hey mate, good choice
A couple of words for your build
A lot of people on the forum here seam to be going for a through axle rear end on there meta 5s, as I am on my meta 6.

Here is another thread I found interesting
http://www.commencalownersclub.com/index.php?topic=1079.0
After reading this I ran out bought a Roco 3PL 200x50 for my meta 6.
I was pretty happy with the Fox RP2 on my 2007 meta 5
But I didn't like the Fox RP2 on the meta 6, seamed to bottom out to easy.

Pretty much the day my 3PL arrived I read this next thread and found the guy was right about the true stroke length.

Something for you to think about anyway.

Thanks for all the advice.  The rear thru axle is a good option that I will use.  I have only used fox rear shocks in the past, but it seems that now Rock Shox and Marz are both good alternatives.  Would like to hear if anyone has used a RS Monarch on their meta.
