Great - look forward to seeing the pics! What sort of build have you gone for - lightweight or bombproof?

This is what I've gone for. I wanted it to be fairly light but also strong and slacker for the trail centres.

Medium 09 5.5. Vip frame.
Rock Shox Pike 454 Air U Turn
Avid Elixir CR brakes
XT Cranks with LG1 chain guide. (prefer this set up instad of 2/3 rings)
Hope Hoops (soon to be replaced with the new Crozzmax sx)
Thomson X4 stem (50mm)
Thomson Seatpost (free with frame!)
Sunline V1 saddle
Sunline grips
Sunline V1 Carbon Bars
Conti Mountain Kings.
SRAM X9 shifter/rear mech

Feels really nice. You can notice the stiffer rear end with the new linkage. I can do you a similar build if your after one.  Smiley

Sounds like a sweet setup! Looking forward to the pics.

That's a tempting offer... let's wait and see if the christmas bonus allows it  Wink

What's the thinking behind building a 5 up like a 4x?

The only thing that is 4x like is the chain device. For the sort of trail riding we do I don't need a granny ring. It's either pretty flat local forest stuff or trail centre's with fast downhill sections.
