Anyone been up to Nant yr Arian recently?   I have to go to Aberystwyth next week and was thinking of taking my 5.5 and giving Nant yr Arian a go.  The trails in the South East are reasonably dry at the moment - however don't know about Wales.  Is this a good mtb centre or should I make a detour somewhere else?   Cheers..

I visited Nant yr Arian in August - it is well worth the visit as it's got some of the best singletrack I've ridden recently.

I rode the Syfydin Trail which takes you right out into the wilderness. There is a lot of technical double track some of which was VERY wet, some of the 'puddles' came up to my hubs!

If you don't fancy the wilderness there are trails that stick closer to the trail centre.

It's nearly two years since I was there, but I can still remember the bit singletrack back to the visitor centre was nice.

Think we done the red, but ony the last section sticks in my mind.

I really rate Nanty - the main red loop is fairly short but there is some undulating singletrack that they've cut into the side of a big valley (about 2/3 of the way round if I remember) that is among the best I've ever ridden. If I were you though I would combine the visit with another Welsh trail centre - I've always found it a great one to do "on the way to/from" something else.
