Now I dont want any spitting or heckling here!  Wink

With my Combi Disc 07 having bit me firmly on the arse and giving me a mountain biking bug, Im looking to step up the scale. Ive looked at Specialized Stumpjumper, Scott Scale 40 etc but I love the look and spec of this Rock Lobster.

Thoughts and opinions?

Make sure to try before you buy - make doubly sure you get the right size - that link you posted only shows one size.
I don't know the brand but the head angle on that looks more relaxed than a Scale (tried to find the figures but couldn't).  The Scale is definitely designed as a lightweight race machine.  Will be quick, but skittish on the downs imo.  Depends what you're after...

I'm not looking at Commencal because I cant see any hardtails that match the spec of many of the other HT's in this price range.

I know you can't read too much into reviews but I have a feeling that the 07 Team Tig was What Mountain Bike's Best Hardtail under £1000. Merlin do have a good rep as well.

I'd also consider this billy bargain if you're not going done the Commie route
