Greetings!

I am seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on an '08 DH Supreme frame...I currently ride an '08 V10 and it just has way too much travel...it squashes everything, and you can hardly feel the shock unload, it is wicked fast, but won't "pop" off of anything easily...it doesn't like leaving the ground as much as I do???

I've heard the 7" in the rear of a DH supreme makes it really fun and "spring-y" to ride...yet it feels like it has more than 7" Huh? True??? Can it still take a 6' to 8' drop?? that's about my limit (guess it depends on how smoothly ya land it, eh???)

Also, is the rear hub spacing 150mm on the '08?? There appears to be some disagreement among my scant sources!

Thanks very much in advance for any info. on these cool, yet exotic frames!!!

Like you say it depends how smooth you are. 150mm is correct.

Yo mate , i got a 08 supreme Dh after finding my bighit to much most of the time , I have not regreted it once , it can cope with every thing my bighit did it does it easyer due to the lower weight, my Supreme is 42lbs dead , it jumps really well with that 'pop' you seek but still having excellent DH performance.
And don't let ppl fool you into thinking its not got enough travel cos in my riding group there is a foes DH 2:1 with 10" and others with 8-9" and i have no probs keeping up with them thru rough stuff Smiley I have also chucked it off some fairly big drops/jumps too and it loves it !

150mm rear end, 68mm BB shell, 31.6 seatpost.

If you are getting a frame only, check out the crank options as it'll either be simple or a headache to fit a chain device.  Best bet is to go with a 57.5mm chainline / 83mm axle crankset if possible.  I've also managed to fit 73mm cranks (XTRs and Saints) so it is do-able, just a bit more work for the right chainline. 83mm is a beeze to fit, just needs 2 5mm collars to 'convert' to the 73mm shell.

The frame rides amazingly, I love mine.  It's a fast ride well suited to DH tracks and takes the big hits well.  It's fairly stiff and tracks well on off camber.

Don't be fooled by the number in the travel spec - it's not how much, it's how the bike delivers it.  I've ridden 9" bikes with a straight to falling rate and it's possible to blow through the travel.  The Commy linkage gives a nice rising rate and is very controlled.

I much prefer it over my Yeti Mono 9 that I had before, it feels tighter and quicker but isn't fazed by big hits.  It's taken some great riders to podiums so it'll go all the way if you can.

Here's a shot of me drifting a turn on mine at the Masters Worlds in Pra Loup this year!

Yeh go for the commie mate, 7" set up sweet is fine. Last two bikes I had was a Karpiel (9.5 travel) & Giant DH (8.25 tarvel) and I dont even notice the lesser travel. Have been off a couple of 8 to 9 foot ledges with no issues...And I'm 95kg (yeh I did eat all the pies...+ dessert).
Also I find the comie jumps way better than the other two aswell, got like a nimble feel to it.
Hope it helps ya some.
Cheers
