I was curious to hear other peoples views.

I think the versatility of the meta 6 is let down a bit by the flex in the rear swing arm.
I have a 9mm QR on the back at the moment but I will change to a 12mm through axle.
But would this bike not be improved with a stiffer swing arm?  Roll Eyes

The Meta 6 was always designed to have a beefy bolt through rear axle. 9mm just isn't enough.

That said I have been riding one of the first 6s' with a 9mm for a year now as I just havent got round to swapping it out. Yep there is flex there, but I am kinda used to it!

The 09 Meta 6 is a lot stiffer with the beefed up linkage.

Hi hanleyrh
Is it possible to put the 09 linkage on a 08 meta 6? I know the stroke goes from 50 to 57mm.
And are the linkages expensive?
Do you know if the suspension movement feels any different?

Hi Grammo

Unfortunately not. The new linkage wont fit on the old Meta 6's. The suspension feels pretty much the same but the 09 gets a high volume RP23 shock to make it feel even grippier! They're in stock if your interested  Smiley

Does the new 09 linkage fit the 08 Meta 5?  Are they available to buy if so?  I am thinking of going for the new fox 15mm set up on the front and fitting a 12mm maxle on the rear as it is the 1 thing that bugs me is when it all starts flexing.

Seeing as we're on the subject..

A gentleman on here has offered me 12mm bolt through dropouts.

Am I really going to notice the difference over QR? Seems pretty snappy to me already tbh..

The 09 Meta 5.5 Linkage will fit on an 08 Meta 5.5.  I've had an 06 and an 08 Meta and now have an 09 and it is noticeably stiffer.

When "Commencal 09 part 2: Other stuff" (http://www.commencalownersclub.com/index.php/topic,1449.0.html) post was written, it sayed: "Last week I mentioned the new one piece triangle linkage plates that were coming on the new Super Four, albeit in a miniture size, well this technology has found it's way onto the new Meta 5.5 too, meaning a stiffer lighter linkage system. Best of it's compatible with ALL previous Meta 5 frames so it's upgradetastic! Weak linkages has always been the Meta 5's, erm, weak link, so it's a welcome improvement." Suddenly I figure out that now you are talking about linkage plates. Sort of difference here?
