Alreet Chaps

New to the site as ive just decided to commit some hard earned to the purchase of a Commencal.

Question is when will the shops start to reduce the 08 model costs, ive noticed a few have already but they seem to get snapped up pretty quick.

Im after a 5.5.2 or would consider splashin a few extra bucks on an XT if the price was right.

Seen some 5.5.2 reduced to £1300 & an XT at £1500.

Cheers.

Sadly mate your about a month too late. The price reductions started in July and I'd say most have already long since sold out.

All I have left are XL 5.5.3's and 4.3, well one of each! Plus some Combi S's, a Furious and a MiniDH. Meta 5.5.2's long since sold out. I think most are in the same situation.

If you can find a 5.5.2 for anything below the original RRP I'd snap it up.

Thanks.

There seems to be quite a few places that have them in at full retail price, will these reduce once they get the 09 stock in?

Or will these be places that dont actually stock the bikes & just order them on demand so are unlikely to reduce the costs!!

The importer (assuming your in the UK) has been out of stock for ages on them, so if any shops are advertising them in stock, they must be holding the stock. But 09 bikes are much more expensive than the 08's so shops are not having to reduce the price by as much as norm, as at full RRP they're still looking cheap compared to the new models.

Just heard from Steve @ Hilghand Cycles. He's got a medium XT left in stock. If this size fits I'd snap his arm off for it, the 5.5.XT is an amazing bike for the money and it's well over £2k in 09.

Not sure what price he's looking for it so if it fits it'd be well worth getting in touch with him: info@highlandbikes.com Tell him you were speaking to Steve @ Real Cycles so he knows who you are.

Good luck.
