Just swopped the tyres on me Mini to the new Panaracer Rampage 2.35 SC (sticky) compound. Weighed it and it's now only 35lb!

This is almost getting too light! ;-)

How are the panaracer's you tried them out yet! How do they compare to the intense treads?

Back now from the first outting on the Panaracers, and they're actually pretty bloody good.

On the flat and ups they are noticeably lighter and easier to turn than the Edge DC's they replaced, they're half a pound each lighter than the very worn Edges on the scale. Sizewise they have a similar width and volume to the Edge DC too.

On the runs they are good. They hook up on wet roots and rocks well, not as well as the Edges's but good nonetheless. The front was planted the whole day although the rear would step out without much pushing, but it was predictable and they hooked back up soon enough. I ran them at about 35psi and didn't pinch at all, and our trails are very rocky. All in I'd say they're about 75% as good as the Edges on the runs, way way better on the climbs.

The only thing to see now is the wear. Edge DC's last forever, I've heard it said the Rampage SC tacky compounds wear out really quick, so time will tell.

Just one word of warning: They take a few runs to reach max grip potential. On the first run they slide all over the place, but I figure this is just the top shiny coating wearing off and the soft compound getting bedded in.

All in all if they don't wear out silly fast they could well become my standard tyres on the Supreme, or on your Meta if you've gone for a beefy build on one.
