Bashguard / Chain Device for Meta
«

I have a 2008 Meta 5.5.1 - the medium cage rear mech seems to only 'just' cope with the tripple ring setup, so I'm thinking about getting rid of the big ring for a bashguard.
What bashguards are people running on Meta's and anybody running bashguard / chain device?
Pics would be great - obviously has to look cool (and work!)
Thanks in advance!

Hi I have a e13 bash on my meta 552. Works great even though I bought the wrong size..doh!
Working on a different laptop so don't have pics, but my bike is on the users bikes section (last but one on the first page). piece of piddle to fit and looks cool. I went with clear, but I think they do a smoke coloured one (is the 551 gold decals like my 552?) Anywho..I never used the big ring either and did crunch into logs, stones, etc once in a while...but not anymore

I wouldn't bother with a chain device unless your racing 4X or something? Much more handy to keep the granny for climbing imo and your front derailer will catch your chain anyway.

e13srs with 36t on the front and 11-34 on the rear. I can ride everywhere that I used to ride with my 3 ring set up.

I run a raceface bash on my HT with a 26-36, and 11-34 on rear, and a super short mech
(It is doable)
I know it's not a commy, but this is what it looks like.

trans orange e13 looks cool on mine.
get a 36t then change the middle ring to a 36t, giving you better range.
