Rode the new 10km of completed trail at the weekend at Whinnlater Forest in the Lake District. Very much like other new trails it has something for everyone, some cheeky 'black' obstacles, some nice technical uphills and some very 'whoopy' downhills.

The cafe is top notch, the shop can meet your spare inner tube needs and they have almost finished the second loop.

At the moment it is only worth a visit if you are in the area, but if the 2nd loop is the same quality as the first, it will be setting a rather good standard for a new English trail centre ( at blinking last! ) and will be worth a bit of a drive ( especially if you combine it with some map and compass biking which litters the area ).

hello tim,

since im on the forum a lot this weekend might as well get accustomed to using it / acqauinted to people and all that jazz.

so hello - by the way thanks for the 'back up' in 'the great big giant colour match debate' - could make it a competition -one which i am sure i would win??? Grin

so where exactly is whinlatter - i do not profess to be much of a geographer but i do know my proverbial a=== from me elbow?

ive never even heard of it? - and since im here i cant be bothered to consult google  so i thought i would just ask you. Smiley

cheers

Whinlatter is in the heart of the Lake District very near Keswick ( and the best chip shop in the North of England..the Old Keswickian )

More details here http://www.forestry.gov.uk/whinlatterforestpark

You should post more pics of your bike out on the trails!
