On a slightly different note!

After a few months the bearings on my pivots died on my meta 5.5 VIP which I bought from Steveb at real cycles, I emailed him and after a few weeks I received a new set in the post, spot on!

After a few months my Marzocchi 55 atas died for the third time, my local bike shop blazing saddles in rustington agreed to replace them under warranty with a set that of forks for a similar value of any make, spot on!

These are a couple of cases of good customer service and will no doubt bring the shops in question a little bit extra trade from word of mouth

What other companies/individuals do you guys have a good comment/story about so that they get the credit they rightly deserve?

How about Wiggle CRC Merlin etc and smaller specialist companies like TFTuned and MOJO who I both hear great things about?

Its not ALL bad is it?

Certainly not!

My line of work is also heavily influenced by internet forums, and tbh you only get the negative posted up....anybody who is actually very happy tends to keep schtung and happy to themselves.

I'm one of them.

I bought my bike and my bro's minidh's from merlin, online with the end of year discounts and have had excellent service with he one warrenty return on an XO shifter.

Also *touch wood* I have had zero issues with my bike and i treat it like a pig with next to zero maintenance along with throwing it down hard ALOT. The Frame is covered in dinks, chips, gouges, scrapes and just rides on. Only had to tighten the main pivots once and the linkage bolts once in a year.

CRC is spot on with their customer service, whenever i email a guy call philip loughlin with any questions on products they stock he always gets the part brought to his office from the warehouse so that he can answer my question about it 100%,he doesnt just give me a qoute from the suppliers web page etc, will always keep going back to them for goodies!!

Real cycles on the other hand...well who would shop there,i mean cmon that guy steve clearly doesnt have a clue what he is on about...  Grin  hehe just messing, the guy is a legend!!!! He went to great lengths to get hold of the bike i was wanting when EVERY other commie dealer in the uk simply tld me they had sold out and i was to hold on till the 09 range came out...but not steve,he somehow got his hands on my mini d and got it sent to me sharpish,(once again thanks dude) and im now out on it near enough every other day and when im not out on it im either hoping i was or surfing the net to see what cool upgrade i can gift myself with for her   Grin

Moose Cycles in Colliers Wood SW london, get my vote. Always look after me, bought a number of frames and bits through them. Only problem with them is I tend to spend hours in there talking about bikes and get in trouble when I get home.

TF tuned appear to have sold their souls to the devil, thats the only explanation I have for how they can turnaround the stuff they do so quick. Every fork Ive sent them (from XC to dorados to 888s etc) have been fully service or tuned and back the next day.

Dom, you live in the area? I used to live in Courtney Road, which is a continuation of the Fortesque Road that is opposite the rear entrance to the Supercentre.

You ever go to Merton Abbey market?

A few miles away Wink good bike shops worth travelling too. Was a tooting resident for a while though. Merton abbey years ago, its pretty much all flats now, markets not the den of eniquity it used to be.

Even worse my sisters now migrated to potatoland so Ill have to visit the green isle at some point.

Mate of mine used to have a stall selling her own clothes range now specialises in protective (uv) stuff for Kids. Angilee is her name, very attractive, dont spose you remember her? would be same time frame. Would be a VERY small world if you do.

Have been horrendously hammered in Townhouse (born in Wmibledon not moved far), its not there anymore, poncy coffee house now.

Mates name rings no bells, but then I was pissed or stoned most of the time there!

Townhouse was a great place to work, spent two glorious years there from when it first opened. Also met lots of very accommodating ladies there, and my now wife! I heard it was turned into a coffee bar/restaurant.  Knowing some of the things that went on there after hours I wouldn't eat in that building, too many germs still lurking I suspect!

Before the Townhouse I was at the Castle bar in the village.

I have some great memories of Wimbledon, lived there for years before moving to Ireland. Remember the Big Apple bar? Is cheers still there?
