If you are around in August, why not pop along to Llandegla for one of their famous Thursday Night BBQ's in partnership with the Commencal Owners Club?

There will be folk around all day, but the BBQ starts at 18:30 and runs until the centre kicks out at 9pm.

Food, Music, Good Times and lots of Commie owners ( many of the centre staff ride Commie bikes both to teach and to have fun on )

Just the start of Owners Club events....more details coming soon....

This place is great for a short blast if you like the man-made all weather trail centres. Their web site gives a pretty fair idea http://www.coedllandegla.com/

I've been riding at Llandegla since it was opened 3 years ago! ( wow that has gone quick ).

Great place for an after work rag, or some good fast tracks on a weekend. Not as technically hard as some trails, but that doesn't mean there isn't any challenges.

I've heard many a fat £3k bike rider ( you know the type, the car park heroes! ) say that the trails are too easy...but trust me when you hit the black runs at full speed they are a solid full-on prospect. An off here, means some serious tree kissing action  Grin

Look at it this way...the Athertons run their courses here and the current world record for a mountain bike jump was set there too!

Back when the Black runs were fresh ( without the brake bumps ) and in fact before they were open to the public, I got to ride them with the crew there and I made this movie

Go along, good drainage, award winning cafe and nice folks...what else do you need to know?

Have you seen me on my bike Vic-Tim? You referred to me very well 'Fat £3k bike rider'. I have been trying to get ride of the fat (not the £3 bike) for a while.

I'm only kidding with 'Karatechris' as he is an old pal! and loves a wind up..... Me and him were XC hardcore Dudes last year in the alps. He is very suave on the FRANCAIS language (not as good as my Japanese/Welsh/German version).

Must go to Llangegla some time as it does look good fun...if not like an A road Wink

Oops wasn't actually referring you in particular! Just see it so often on other forums. Yeah, it is not a technical trail, but it has to be hit at full speed to get the most out of it....oh and they are building.... ( keep that secret though... )

Come along to 'degla, there aren't that many who don't leave with a big grin!

May i add, that on the first decent black section, bout 2/3rds down, there is one part that is pure braking bumps up, then down and around the very fast pumpy berm.

that part on a mini DH is just pure sex. i've gained about 5s through that part easy vs other riders. just stay off the brakes all thre way down, part from on the big tight berms, and rely on soft tyre pressures to keep the grip.
