Doing Llandegla tomorrow for the first time and was just wondering whether its full face or p*sspot. Will definately be doing the red run and then the black run. Could do with your opinions based on your experience there.

Cheers.

Damo.

P.S. Anybody else going tomorrow? Give us a wave.

You only ever need a p*sspot unless you fall off!!!!

Seriously though, I've only ever used my Giro Xen round all trail centres other than Cwmdown, the rest are all XC really.  Saying that, my mate had quite a bad stack on Llandegla black where he jumped a table and landed with his face on the transition of the next.  Ended up with 2 days in Wrexham hospital as a result.

A full face may have saved him a hospital visit but tbh, he's been back a few times in just his XC lid.

Cheers. I suppose this is one of those "Sod's Law" type questions. If I wear a FF I'll be fine but if I wear a PP then I'm gonna face plant.  Undecided

I'd go with the 'pot option myself, either way you will have a blast. Though having never come off there I would say that. Not that I'm an expert in these matters, considering the last "stack" I had was whilst riding uphill!

full face would be the most sensible option man, just think it will protect your pretty face better plus it will make u feel invincible(or am i alone on this one?) so you go faster and bigger!

Well, I'm home and glad I took th Full Face option. On the first black run bit and the last table top, I hit it and pushed my bars forward in the air and nearly fell off the back of my bike and let go of one of my grips by accident and stacked off the side of it face first in to the gravel with my left leg twisted round the rear of the bike. What a dick!!

Carried on though. My knee pads had slid down so I had claret coming out. Gonna get some Race Lite 661 pads I think instead of my Vegies.

On a left hand berm, I didn't lean over the front of the bike enough causing the front tyre to lose grip, so I put my left foot down and took the sole half off my shoe. So I tied it back on with some spare lace. New shoes now required. Five Tens I think.

All in all a good day on my Llandegla debut.

What a place.

So am I. It's bad enough falling off at the start but not being able to work would be bad trouble for me, and I wouldn't be able to see the rest of the route.

if you like the feel of the free movement you get with the veggies but u want more protection,go for the kyle strait pads,i have a set of them and they are awesome, fit like a glove, never move when riding, dont restrict my movement at all, infact at times i forget they are even there, and to top it off they offer a very good level of protection, dare i say it but i would even trust them enough to use in a dh race!!

How far do the Kyle's go down your shin? I currently use the veggie shin wraps with my knee pads for peace of mind but I don't think they will fit to the kyle straits.
