That's a Turner spec shock right? What length is it?
BTW- At max compression the bottom of the spring will hit the seatpost and dent it.

Sorry guys, can you explain to me what the issue is here? Not familiar with that shock. Or is it just that it's a coil?

Dont understand the issue much either(shock clearance aside). Bet that rear end is superb with a coil on it, given it aint exactly bad with an airshock. Might need a bit of tuning what with the leverage ratios presumably being designed with an airshock in mind?

mtc's avatar was linking to an image stored on a password protected server. Nothing to worry about.

Is that on all coil shocks? I quite fancy trying a coil on my meta but I've heard about this issue. However, that frame is the same as mine, and that guy is running a DHX, right? So a shock with a smaller coil (E.g. a vanilla) ought to fit? I might try it later on - I have a vanilla R lying about somewhere...

The damping circuits don't always work when the shock is upside down. Similar to when you turn your bike the right way up after it's been upside down for a while - the forks have no rebound because the oil has run out. It probably depends on your shock though.

Nope. Least not any coil shock we've ever tried.
Have a tiny feeling it might be poss on the new 09, but ain't got one yet to play with so can;t be sure.
