Hey Guys

Im looking for a new bike, I have been in love with commencals for a while now and the 09 supreme looks so amazing! I currently ride a demo 8. To be fair, i absolutely love it! It has never gone wrong on me when every other compenent has despite 2 seasons in the alps!

But, i think its time for me to get something a little more racey......

I am slightly concerned that they are single pivot?? I had an orange and didn't really get on with it, especially when it came to braking. Are commencals the same??


Bascially guys, i want you to sell it to me, why do you love 'em so much!!!!???

I dont think many people here can comment on the 09 supreme as very very few people are lucky enough to have one yet.

09 supreme i would wait a bit till you get one as they are cracking all over the shop, got a couple of friends with them an the rear chain stays are breaking an another has cracked his around the are that the shock goes through the front section of then frame, plus the front shock mount is getting some funny things happening to it under the surface of the paint (bit of cracking i think)

2 of these guys are not heavier than 65 kilos,

get yourself an 08 for now as we all got them on this forum apart from maybe 3 people!!! we have no problems an you dont wanna get us all jealous by getting an 09 model!!

ok man i will give u the response u were hoping to hear there,lol.
yes the bikes are only single pivot,but they dont behave like your run of the mill single pivot bike(like say the patriot or the 224),thanks to commencals legendary "contact" system you get a much more planted rear wheel,so it doesnt jump about  when braking (or when doing anything for that matter) but to put it to you this way man, Gee(08 world champ) and Dan and Rachel(08 female world champ) Atherton and the legendary Cedric Gracia all kick ass on the supremes big brother the supreme DH(they both work off the same single pivot with contact system idea,the DH just simply has the pivot located more directly above the bb rather than a bit forward of it like the supreme and the DH has a longer wheel base etc,but in the end they bith work off the same principals)  so if its good enough for them - they use the supreme as their play bike and Gee's exact words to me when i was looking to buy one was "its just F**cking Rad man!!!"- then surely you have to ask yourself...it must be good enough for you??

So if i was you,i'd get on the blower to some commmie dealers asap and try and get your hands on an 08 supreme1,you will find it impossible to get the small/medium size now as they are sold out in the uk but you will poss get the large/xl size (there is only bout a 1inch diff in the frame size and its very hard to notice when riding the bike) and you will if you are jammy enough be able to get a discount too(which is a double whammy cos the 09 prices are looking to be higher than the 08's original)

Hey guys, thanks for the replies!!

I was going to go for the 09 supreme, as its seems perfect for uk riding. But, im gonna go for the bigger brother for racing. Im not little, but im not sure i would feel comfortable on a large frame, so maybe getting a 08 model is out of the question?? I am worried about the comments on that they are cracking?? But, im sure commencal have a good warranty should it go wrong??

I think the prices are out on the 16th of this month. They have definitely got to be a few squids more now!

And yes, im pretty much sold on the commies, no other bike I want!!

Ah well,if its the supreme DH you are after then i reckon you might still be in with a chance on getting one,i was refering to the supreme (mini dh1) being out of stock in the small/medium ,im not sure if this is the case on the bigger brother the supreme DH. you could do what i did when recently trying to locate an absolute2 in long,i emailed every dealer in the uk to see if they had one(you will get the listing on the commencal uk homepage,it over 100 dealers,lol) or alternatively you could give steve b a call from real cycles and see what he has got!
(if he cant get one no one can,lol)
