Holiday was awesome.  Only word for it.  Weather was glorious{in complete contrast to last year's washout}, trails were dry, dusty and FAST!  Did about 50km a day, some lift assisted, some climbing, made it over to Switzerland 4 days out of six.   Spotted a fair few commencals as well, one of the shops in town was hiring Furious and Supremes, whilst another shop in Les Gets had Meta's too. {saw a numpty bringing Commie name into disrepute by walking down a fairly easy section of the Chavannes downhill track}.

Great week, and despite a bit of a backlash against the Porte du Soleil area, you really cannot fault the area for choice of trails.  There's out and out DH tracks, freeride trails, jump area, XC loops, basically anything you'd want to do on a mountain bike, you can find it there.

Going to get booked up for next year as early as possible!!!

I've got to agree with that.
The area has a mix of everything, suitable for everybody.
It might not have the continual vertical drop of Alpe D'heuz or Les Deux Alpes, but it really has got something for everybody, plus it's spread out over a big enough area to provide plenty variety.

My best ride from the week in Morzine has to be the guided ride we done over into Samoen. Lift assisted up out of Les Gets, then a ride/push up to the highest point (can't remember the name now of the peak now), then we dropped well over 1000m on singletrack down into Samoen (we also rode back up a bit in the middle to cram in even more singletrack) for lunch.
Then we had to climb the 1000m back up over the col back to Morzine  Undecided
