Planning on ordering a Meta later today but have a few questions i thought the peeps here would be able to help me with Wink

1) Im going to go for a small as 5'7"/31" inside leg. This a good choice for the odd drop off/jump and XC? i.e will i have enough standover yet not be cramped up in the cockpit. Ideally i would try for size but do not seem to have many commencal dealers down my way (peterborough).

2) Is the Meta 5.2 maxle or qr on the front?

3) Anyone have any probs with just having a deore hub on the rear?

4) This is going to be my first full suss bike will i be wishing i had my hardtail when climbing or on the flat at all?  Wink

5) Erm, thats about it i think.

Cheers

Hello Jamie,

I'm 5'7" as well with 30 inside leg and small is spot on for general trail riding, I thought the med was a bit stretched for my liking. I think it is a qr front, not sure about the hub and you will not be wanting your h/t the traction on climbs is amazing. Just go for it and enjoy!!

on the most steep climbs youll be wanting your hardtail i think as its prob lighter and maybe not so much travel in front(?). meta 5 is not an xc bike in my opinion, but the fun part on the flats where you can pedal fast and on the downs is so much fun and such a great experience you should go for it! this also my first full susser and its a whole new fun world Grin
still take my hardtail to the most sketchy expeditions that has the deepest forests and roads when you dont know what kinda places you get yourself to. but to the trails i take my meta and after that you cant stop smiling the whole day! no bike is perfect for everything but i guess meta is exceptionally versatile. youll love it!

Hi Jamie
I'm not far down the road from you...
Where do you normally ride?
I'm looking at getting a Meta 5.5xt or a 666, but like you are struggling to find commie dealers for demo rides etc.

Where are looking to buy from? Any good deals you've got lined up?

Good luck with your purchase!!
