how about just comparing how they ride?

It's not always that easy though is it? Can you put a number on a set bike after an hour riding that covers all bases, 74% for that one, 53% that one etc?

Riding on 2 bikes, with similar geometry (there's tons of bikes like the Meta around atm), similar value, similar forks it can be quite hard saying realistically which you prefer after an hour ride. I could tell straight off the bat I didn't like the Trance X (short and tall  Angry light though) but the Orange 5 felt very like the Meta, it weighed about the same, if the cost were the same I'd have had a hard time picking  Wink You can feel the differences, longer stems, different wheelsets, different bar width/rise but that doesn't always make one obviously better. It's very subjective, unlike weight.

Assuming everything else feels the same and the components on both are reliable, a 28lb trail bike will outsell a 32lb one. Odds are it'll accelerate, decelerate and climb better. Assuming the unsprung mass is lighter it'll even hold speed better through the rough.

New Range looks awesome to me..

I'm really thinking about snatching up a Supreme DH for next season to go with my Mini-dh..  I'd love to see a Worlds-champ Atherton edition Supreme DH.. anybody from commencal reading this? Wink

I was talking about this with someone 'in the know' the other day....it certainly would be awesome to have a ltd edition Frameset with the World Champ colours wouldn't it?

Yeah that would be sweet like and it might educate some of those twats over on pinkbike.com about how successful commencals are too(some1 even thought that commie was bringing out a new bike called the "animal" (and just so the penny drops for all you reading this, cue the athertons team bikes -animal commencal - lol) and some of the rest of the people on it reckon that commencal sponsor some good riders but the bikes are pretty crap, lol.

Anybody else think that the new linkage makes them look more like a Diamond Back?  Even more than before?

Eh, no matter, I do like their changes, though.  That slack seat tube angle did perplex me, good to see it steepen up.  Hopefully the new linkage will make adjusting the front der easier??  What a pain that is!

They all look great!  Love the new paint!

Also what Diamond back you reckon they look like, personally I couldnt tell the 'visual' difference between old and new linkage plates from the photos?

Take a look at their Mission 3 http://www.diamondback.com/bikes/mtn-full-suspension/mission-3-08/

Commencal just extended the chainstays all the way to the rocker, instead of the two piece system.  That is pretty much what Diamond Back is doing.  Or am I just taking crazy pills?  Huh?
