Your not going to be able to get away from this one for a while...a family and Commencal clean sweep at a World Cup event ( and the Commencal home event ). Check out the footage on www.freecaster.tv and smile knowing that you are in the same biking club!

When Gee crossed the line 2 tenths of a second faster than Hill the crown went ballistic. Totally amazing. During the last 15 riders runs there were a few light showers and everyone was getting a bit stressed that the course was getting wet. Gee was on "pole" so went last in the final run and as time went on, the track got worse.

Hill pulled a 1.83sec lead at the first split, but quite a few riders got fast splits, yet lost the gain on the bottom half of the track, it was obviously the top exposed part of the track was holding up well, but the lower section in the trees was getting slow as Hills overal time was only a second faster.

Gee was half a second out on the spit time and it seemed game over, but he pulled it out when it really matter and was the only rider to to improve his time on the lower section.

Have to say it, Gee seemed like the only rider on the day who was hungry for the win, the others just seemed to be going thru the motions.

Word has to go out to CG, the crown loved him, no matter what anyone says, and no matter how fast Gee gets, CG is still the man. But lets not take it from Gee, Rach and Dan. 3 Riders, focused and out to win. And win they did.

The entire Commencal team are now in the hotel at a private party, they're all beeming from ear to ear, and deserve it, todays win is as much about the guys in HQ as it is about the Athertons and not forgetting their top notch mechanic, Northern Irelands own Stevie Bell. Well done to all of them.

I'm off for a beer. Or two.

Likewise, I did mine in feb, the best bit was that they really seemed to enjoy doing the courses.
