Had my meta stolen this morning .So I'm in the market for a new or even 2nd hand Meta 5.The thing is I'm not sure which one to get.Do I get a 2nd hand 07 Meta 5,a discounted 08 or wait for the 09 models to arrive.Also if anyone has gone from a 07 meta 5 to a 08 model I'd like to know what they thought of the difference between the 2 bikes.

Ah well it's only a bike,well thats what the missus says but she just don't understand  Contacted the insurance peeps & explained how bike was stolen & they've asked me to get a quote from the lbs as to how much it would cost to replace & any reciepts for the parts added.Luckily I've kept all the invoices.I'm hoping to get about £1500-1600.The only thing is I think I prefer the 07 meta 5 to the 08 as they seem to be two different bikes & I loved the angles on the 07 model.I've even been looking at those Lapierre Spicy 314 -514 bikes & must admit 1st impressions are good.The search continues.Once again if any of you are thinking of selling your medium 07 meta 5 please give me a shout at deekhakh@fsmail.net

funny you should mention an 07 meta
i am thinking... i say "thinking" of selling me meta 5 vip. have you can see mine on the who/what /where
the only difference is that i now have on a black 08 pike 454 air u-turn on it and hope hubs fr/rr and i ditched the hope headset for pig pro dh one.

Bad luck on the theft, that's awful.  Bike stealing scummers. Fingers crossed on the insurance.

It's a mate of mine, the bike is mint (apart from the mentioned cable scuff) and well looked after.  '08 though...

Thanks for the heads up lads.It certainly is a difficult choice,two great bikes.I'm leaning towards the 07 meta as this what I have been riding for the past 10 months and its been a superb bike for me.What I need to do is have a demo 08 meta to see if I can live with the small changes to the angles.But firstly I gotta get the OK from the insurance,which they've said should be sorted within 10 w/days after they've received the quote for a replacement.I hope there's no hitch as I've already ordered the parts I'd added to the now stolen bike.As for now I'll just have to use the 03 spec enduro thats my son's
