Sneak peak which has been leaked from the 2009 Line-up. Yep Commie have gone all CARBON!

What they had to say on the matter...

Dubbed the ‘SKIN’, this new full carbon race frame borrows greatly from the inconspicuously rapid ‘Flame’ XC bike yet remains typically ‘Commençal’ and aggressive at heart. Expect a standalone VIP frameset and bikes at varying build levels.

Commençal were eager to get the design, quality and ride characteristics right first time round and not to enter the market with a carbon frame that had not seen enough development time and fell short of standards and expectations. Hence over many, many months prototypes came and went, tweaks were made and only the best Taiwanese factory specialising in carbon frame production was awarded the production and manufacture of the ‘Skin’. The result? A frame that should ride every bit as well as it looks.

NB: We were so exclusive with the development shots that we had to take them down to let the rest of the world catch up!....they will be back!

looking really good imo. Nice to see cannondale stepping up their game and making a new lighter, better, faster?, more comfortable ... and so on and so on... xc frame. Now, if i only liked riding hardtails... Hehe. But it does look really, really nice. With the new 4incher coming out as well as the new supreme range 09 is gonna be one sweet year for xc's and fr/dh riders alike Wink Good job commencal!

Crap-arse.
I hate carbon!

...unless it's in my helmet, or bars, or links (ooh that'd be nice), of course seatpost...

My rear mech is carbon...

Fuggit, yeah this does look good.

I wonder about a carbon hardtail for raggin'..?

wops, meant commencal of course. I was working with some cannondale headshock pdfs at the same time and apparently my multitasking skills are somewhat lacking. Or perhaps i was mentally comparing it to the taurine frame (that i thought about getting for my mother, but didn't as it was crazy expensive). dunno. sorry.

but still, really god job commencal Wink (yes! i got it right the second time around)

I'm looking forward to this as it keeps the geometry from the Flame wich I love. This one will be lighter torsionally stiffer and more comfortable I hope.
At least Comencal waited until they could do it the right way.
