OK, can't decide on this one, help me out.

General messing around on the big stuff with the odd DH race thrown in bike......Will only get used about once a month, maybe less.......

Build up the Supreme MDH frame I have with the forks that I've already installed on it (Travis) and the coil shock already in stalled? And build it up with suitable kit? (Pricey)

Or

Stick the forks and shock into a 6.2, swop over some of the bits for some nicer kit? (Not so pricey)

Or

Just stik the forks and shock onto a 6.3, leave the bits as is, replace as they break. (Nice and cheap and fun too).

I'm gonna build up one of them, just can't decide what!!!

The frame build is the obvious choice, but it's gonna be pricey and I'm not sure I can justify the expense on a bike that is purely for very occasional riding. The 6.2 is feasable but at the times I want to swop the forks out to my TALAS to make it more of an alrounder the colour is gonna be horrific (orange frame and blue forks? I'm no bike tart, but NO!).

The 6.3 is a great bargain basement option, the forks will be grand on it, but will I miss the adjustable headtube? And anyway I have a pathalogical issue with riding bikes that can't be pedal'd back to the top so will immediately have to install a granny ring and shifter.

Decisions, decisions......What would you do? I'm down to my last 6.2 and 6.3 in large now, so have to make a decision, fast, cus they're gonna sell thru very soon.

Steveb,
I am beginning to dislike you without ever having met you. I believe many of us would love to have your troubles!!!
Go with what you won't regret doing in a few months time. Will you kick yourself for spending the money or smack yourself upside the head for not?
Good luck and as usual, show us the finished product.

Count yourself lucky that your getting the parts at what id imagine to be cost price!

Poor people like us have the same problems like you, only it costs a hell of a lot more!

Go for the big burly bike.

I was in the same boat, well kinda as I needed a frame quick for the Mega, ended up buying the 6.3 as a whole bike for £800. I have upgraded most parts on it and yeah, it is awesome.

I used to have the older 6.3 with the adjustable headangle and I can honestly say I never ever adjusted it and really don't miss it on the new 6.3. It really can just be another thing to go wrong or come loose!!

Do the 6.3 thing and you can upgrade as and when required. I did the mega avalanche on pretty much the standard kit (hayes brakes rather than the juicys purely because I have spare pads for the Hayes) and it survived so even in it's standard form it's still a great bike (well apart from the All Mountain 4 forks, having a pair of TF tuned coil Pikes on my previous bike doesn't help though).

being fond of equipment and especially stuff that's top of the line my advice is: build your dream bike for sure. you can have it to lark about on and if you don't like it, sell it without suffering prob at all (due to the price paid for it and parts - and if i'm wrong, max would prob hook you up). if all else fails, build it up as a demo bike at the store and sell it when the time is ripe. and yes, you want the adjustable head angle, but not the orange ball of fire. remember, when all else fails, buy the more expensive version. (and yes, listening to me might cost you a penny in the long run, but you end up with a few less shirts and trousers [pants sounded so american, hehe], but your stash will be second to none so there will be no excuse for you if the riding isn't up to speed.)

so yes, get the white one and have a blast with it. build it up with xo, really nice and light crank, sx wheels, some nice tires and so on. you won't regret it, though your balance perhaps will. hell, it will prob wanna go to the alps and scandinavia as bad as you do, though you might not afford it anymore. hehe.

Hello. Everything is sold out in large now, so it has to be the white one.

Oh well ;-)
