Does your mother/girlfriend/wife/dog/cat know you ride like that?
Nice stance though, you seem to know what you're doing.

That photo has just invalidated any warranty claim you might have to make.

if thats the case maybe you should put up a thread warning fellow members of the site that you are watching them.

It's not me you should worry about, but come on, you think the peeps at Commencal and local importers don't look at this forum from time to time?

marc thats what i thought. maybe the argument is that freeride is not its intended use, but i dont count the ramps at cwmcarn as freeride really. anyway she handled it with aplomb.

What do you think?
OK, my comment above was part in jest, part serious, no offense intended to Mark. Is the Meta intended for 3-5' drops? Not really I'd say, it's more AM type stuff. Some might say 3-5' drops ARE AM. I'd say it's a grey area. Yes the Meta can handle it, to a point, But a bad rider can trash a DH bike landing it from 4' repeatedly if he can't land properly. Now Mark might be the smoothest lander in the world, but there again he might resemble a sack of spuds being dropped from a 4 story building. It's just that, well, it's better to keep some things out of the public domain.
Course, I might be over-reacting slightly, I am rather stressed at the mo. So apologies all round if that's the case.

On the other hand, though, it is important that Commencal see what people are doing with their bikes. I was really impressed by how the 552 made me ride on the 2 rides I had on it (I'm now saving up for one), it made me feel I could do stuff like that.
But to compare, Norco have a bike called the Six, it started off as a mini dh type thing, but the next year it got a makeover as a 6" trailbike... it broke a lot, so now the Six is more mini dh again.
My first DH race bike was a 4" Spesh FSR that I bought new links and shock for and became a 6" dh bike. Warranty schwarranty. Ride your bike. Love your bike. And if it takes riding like that it all good, if i breaks while riding like that, well at least you had fun.
BTW I run my own shop now.
I'd do my best to help you, as long as you aren't a complete bastard.

Mark, I was up at Cwmcarn on my 2nd ride on my new Meta and did the drop you're doing in the photo (cool pic by the way), and the bike didn't feel like it was even trying, it was all so effortless! Thats why I why confused that it may not be covered by warranty.
I may stick my neck out by saying this (please bear in mind i'm pretty new to all this biking stuff!), but when you spend that kind of money on bike, you'd kind of expect it to be able cope at least that drop in the pic! Steve, I don't suppose you know of any official stuff from C regarding what is regarded as too extreme for the Meta? - I don't want to break it!!
Anyway...I absolutely love the Meta and am totally chuffed I invested in it!

I have a similar pic of me on my meta doing exactly the same drop.
However my bike is an old one so no warranty issues anyway.
I need to go and attack the minidh there.
Anyone for an owners club meet at cwmcarn?
